Progesterone Cream: Tips for Proper Usage

By Marcus Peterson Instead of applying the progesterone cream directly, it can be used along with a moisturizing lotion. Lotions containing aloe vera oil usually work well and are easy to apply. After application, the medicine will be sent directly to the part where it is required. Overdose of this cream can cause hyperactive senses and less dosage after the body gets used to a certain amount can lead to acute depression. It is very important to use the cream cautiously. The cream should be applied at a particular time in a day. A physician, based on the tests, will have to decide when the best time is. The cream can be mixed with a small amount of moisturizer and massaged in circular motions till the cream is completely absorbed into the skin. The best places to apply the cream are where the skin would be soft to allow for easy absorption. Such areas of the body include the breasts, hands, inner thighs, and palms. Usually, the cream is applied twice a day or as advised by the physician. During the menstruation cycle the body produces a large amount of progesterone so it is not advised to apply the cream during this time. The dosage of the cream should vary with time and conditions. Pregnant women can use the cream in a very small dosage to reduce stretch marks. However, progesterone must be used as prescribed by the doctor to avoid depression or PMS. Women can start using progesterone cream a few years before menopause to minimize menopause effects such as insomnia, depression, stress, and fatigue. With expert medical advice on the correct usage of the progesterone cream, these effects can be curbed to a great extent. Progesterone Cream provides detailed information about progesterone cream, how to use progesterone cream, natural progesterone creams and more. Progesterone Cream is affiliated with Stretch Mark Removal. Got Food Serving Smarts?

By Harriet Hodgson Breakfast, lunch, and dinner - more Americans are eating out these days. It’s nice to be able to sit back, relax, and not have to worry about fixing a meal. But food portions have increased steadily since the 1950s and many of us are eating too much. In the 1950s a serving of French fries was 2.4 ounces, according to www.mealsmatter.org. Today, a serving of French fries is 7.1 ounces or more. The food industry, responding to market demands, produced glasses as big as pitchers and plates as big as platters. Today, huge servings are so common we think they are “normal.” While many restaurants are giving us a good deal on food, it’s a bad deal when it comes to your health. Vanderbilt University wellness experts, on their Health Plus Website, say many Americans could be “innocently overeating,” and wonder why they’re gaining weight. An “Action on Obesity” conference report, published in the April 2005 issue of “Mayo Clinic Proceedings,” cites some causes of weight gain: increased portion size, dining out at restaurants, and consuming energy-dense foods, such as snacks and carbonated drinks. Eating out is okay if we keep serving sizes in mind. What’s the difference between a portion and a serving? A portion is the amount you choose to eat, including return trips to the buffet table. A serving is a measured amount based on food pyramid groups. According to MayoClinic.com, we may be “overlooking an important part of a healthy diet - serving sizes.” And the serving sizes we need to eat in order to maintain a healthy weight may be smaller than we think. Calculating serving sizes is a learned skill, according to Mayo Clinic, and you need measuring cups, spoons, and a food scale to do it. You’re not going to bring these things to a restaurant, so what’s the solution? Mayo Clinic says you can compare serving sizes to objects: 3 ounces of meat, fowl or fish = a deck of cards; 1 cup of vegetables = size of your fist; 1 apple = a baseball; 1/2 cup pasta = one ice cream scoop; 1 1/2 ounces of cheese - two dominoes; 1 cup dry cereal - a large handful Can you continue to eat out and keep a healthy weight? Yes, if you follow these tips. 1. STUDY MENU OPTIONS. Ask your server if you can make any substitutions, such as veggies for French fries, and low-calorie salad dressings. Ask for vinegar and oil if low-calorie dressings are unavailable. 2. CHOOSE LOW CALORIE FOODS. These foods include grilled chicken, steamed vegetables, fresh fruit, and salad with dressing on the side. Choose whole grain bread and eat one serving (a slice or roll) only. 3. ORDER SUGAR-FREE DRINKS. In a brochure called “How Much Are You Eating?” the USDA says we should moderate our intake of sugar. One sugar sweetened carbonated beverage may contain 10 teaspoons of sugar. Instead of sugar sweetened drinks order plain water or unsweetened iced tea. 4. CHECK SERVING SIZES. Before you take one bite of food calculate the serving sizes on your plate. Eat half your meal (or less) if the servings are too large. Take the rest of your food home for another day. 5. EAT VEGGIES AND FRUIT FIRST. Many restaurants are serving meat, chicken, and fish portions that would feed two or more. Eating low-energy-dense foods (low-calorie foods that fill you up)will make it easier to eat one serving of protein. 6. EAT SLOWLY. It takes a while for the mind to realize you are full. Eating slowly and chewing your food well gives your mind time to process this fact. You’ll also enjoy your food more. Stop eating the minute you feel full. 7. CHOOSE FRUIT FOR DESSERT. If fresh fruit is on the menu, choose it for dessert and ask the server to hold the whipped cream. After eating a huge meal you may wish to skip dessert. You also have the option of taking dessert home, cutting it into smaller servings, and freezing it. Keep these tips in mind whenever you go to a restaurant. Share these tips with family members and friends. Your food serving smarts will help you to have a healthy and long life. Copyright 2005 by Harriet Hodgson. The Nerve

By Mellody Davis It never seems to amaze me, how people say things that are totally unreal. Today I heard about a report on the drug mirapex. Its a drug design that claim to help people with Parkinson disease and people with persistent pain. In this report it claim that patients were reporting that while taking this drug it causes them to gamble (to risk). But what are they risking? This claim, only gives proof of the word of God. Look at Mark 2:17 it says On hearing this, Jesus said to them. It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but sinners. If this drug mirapex inspire people to gamble, whats next, a pill to make people to murder, lust (male enhancement drugs), alter the truth, suicide, hate, etc. This makes me wonder are drugs themselves mind controlling or just alter ones mind. Maybe this is why people act the way they do sometimes. Most drugs have side effects in one form or another. Let not even to began to talk about side effects, it another whole subject within itself. Look at Isaiah 53:5 it says But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. Now look at Matthew 9:22 it says Jesus turned and saw her. Take heart, daughter, he said, your faith has healed you. And the woman was healed from that moment. Look at Matthew 14:35 it says And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed. Now look at James 5:16 it says Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. This makes me wonder, how deeply are we devoted to God, and how much trust one really have in him. What makes it even worst is that if one truly turns to him for healing, in some countries in order to receive a monthly check they must go to the doctor, or lose their monthly check, receive medication that may or may not heal them or cause other complications, or worst, the doctor tells you there is nothing they can do for you, but have to continue to go to doctors visits, with the remote chance they may find something they can do with dangerous testing. I can understand they have to make sure you are ill, but after finding that one is ill shouldnt one have the privilege to choose who will heal them? Look at 1Timothy 6:20 it says Timothy guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith. Grace be with you. In closing look at 1Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness: by his wounds you have been healed. Is that a Ghost or am I Just Psychotic?

By Terry Coyier “Shut up!” I yelled to the relentless whir in my head that was so loud I couldn’t concentrate on anything but its annoying drone. When I hear that buzz I know it is a sign that my Lithium levels are too high. I hear everything from the rumble of the refrigerator as it cycles on to the roar of the heat or air-conditioning circulating the air through the vents to the electricity pulsing within the wires that dangle above from pole to pole. I think that if I tried hard enough I could hear the bugs breathing. Just recently I heard a bird squawking in my ear but I dont speak bird so I never did figure out what it wanted. I hear the phone ringing even when it is within an arms reach and obviously not ringing. I can hear my dog barking from another room when he is at the end of the bed. With all this noise going on, is it any wonder I can’t think straight? These sounds, as bothersome as they are, do not come close to what many people with true psychosis endure at the peak of an auditory hallucination. Some hear full on screaming while others are trapped straining to decipher the constant whispers that barrage their mind. The rest hear some variation in between the two extremes. The most tormented hear voices commanding them to hurt themselves or even others in the most despicable of ways. Sometimes the inexorable voices succeed in overcoming the inflicted person’s will and they finally succumb to the wicked suggestions in their head. This type of commotion can also lead to grandiose thoughts and complete loss of touch with reality. Where do these acoustic disturbances originate and can they be controlled? The answers are - I don’t know and I don’t know. Research has provided me with theories but no concrete conclusions. Even the professionals disagree on the origin and causes for psychosis so don’t expect me to provide any new insight. I will, however, try to share what I have learned in the simplest terms possible. First off, we all hear voices in our heads. Each person has a dialogue of self-talk that is fairly constant during waking hours. Little things like Did I come on to strong in that meeting or Im a kind and loving person. This banter goes on all the time; some think its even where our dreams come from. It certainly is how our self-esteem is kept in check. Its also how our depressed self drags us down further into the pit and how our manic side elevates us into the stars. SOME POSSIBLE CAUSES Auditory hallucinations can be caused by many types of medicines, especially if found in toxic levels. Some examples of these medicines are: Lithium & some other psychotropic medications, tricyclic antidepressants, sleeping medicines, antihistamines and even some toxic plants. Reports of these types are found throughout the world. Another large problem that contributes to auditory disturbances is illegal drugs such as, cocaine, amphetamines, cannabis, inhalants, sedatives, hallucinogens (obviously), hypnotics, etc. Even alcohol can entice hallucinations. Besides medicines and drugs, some researchers believe the problem lies with abnormalities in the temporal lobe. Studies also suggest that fathers between the ages of 45 49 have children who are twice as likely to develop schizophrenia (where auditory hallucinations show the highest percentages) as fathers under 25 years of age. There is headway being made in gene research, specifically on chromosome 22 and in studies of a retrovirus found in the cerebrospinal fluid of schizophrenia sufferers. Other general neurological disorders such as epilepsy, endocrine conditions such as hyper- or hypothyroidism or even autoimmune disorders can cause auditory hallucinations. On top of all of this, some believe that short-term psychosis can be caused by purely social factors in a person who has never endured hallucinations before. Traumatic events like the death of a loved one, post-traumatic stress disorder and surviving a natural disaster are just a few examples. SOME POSSIBLE TREATMENTS The first line of treatment is almost always medication. Neuroleptic medications continue to be the first line of treatment. Haldol, Thorazine, Resperdal, Seroquel, Zyprexa, etc. are used to combat auditory hallucinations. Unfortunately somewhere between 25-50% of those being treated still suffer from persistent symptoms. Also, these medications have a multitude of side effects that cause people to shy away from taking them on a continual basis. Along with medication there is a growing following for the use of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to aid someone who is psychotic. Studies are being conducted to determine if the benefits out weigh the possible damaging effects to the patient. Many questions remain unanswered; should you use therapy as an intervention, as treatment when symptoms are in remission or during the acute psychotic phase, should CBT be used only for only medical resistant symptoms or as a tool for general problem solving and coping skills? As we move into the future, it is bound to provide more answers than we currently have. History proves that over and over. All we can anticipation is more effective medicines with fewer side effects, better therapy and a more conclusive isolation of the chromosomes involved and solutions based upon that research. In essence all we have is hope so hang on to it! Terry J. Coyier is a 37-year-old college student studying for an Associates of Applied Sciences degree. Why Bank Overdrafts May Be a Bad Deal For You

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Prakash_Menon]Prakash Menon Many banks actively encourage their clients with low balances to overdraw their accounts. That means, if the customer writes a check or uses her debit card and has insufficient funds in the account, the bank clears the check by granting a temporary overdraft (a short-term loan), up to a specific limit. The customer is saved from the problems of bounced checks or interrupted shopping sprees. Sounds like a good deal for the customers, right? That’s what the banks say. They claim overdrafts are an added convenience to customers. The truth is, they’re often a very bad deal for the customers. Here’s why. When a bank grants a regular line of credit, the interest charged may be up to say, 20% or so. However, for overdrafts, banks don’t charge interest — they charge a flat fee on each transaction. This fee does not depend on the value of the transaction. Let’s see how that works. Overdraft plans fees may be as high as $35 per check. We’ll assume a more conservative fee of $20 per check. If you have four checks totaling $200 that have insufficient funds against them and the bank automatically activates the overdraft and clears those checks, you will owe $80 in overdraft charges. Unlike revolving lines of credit which you can repay at your convenience, an overdraft has to be settled in just a few days. Let’s say the bank allows you to run the overdraft for 14 days. A loan of $200 for 14 days incurring charges of $80 translates into an Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of 1043%! A “convenience” for customers? Not at these rates. What does this remind you of? It reminds me of payday loans and cash advances. Those are the other forms of lending which charge you such sky-high APRs. In fact, if you choose to repay a cash advance on due date and not roll it over, you’ll likely be charged far less than what the banks charge you for an overdraft. It gets even worse. Banks have software that ensures that your largest value checks and debits get processed first. There may be some logic to that. However, this arrangement also means that when there are insufficient funds in your account, instead of paying one overdraft charge on one large check, you pay several charges on several smaller checks! Plus, most customers don’t even realize that they are overdrawn until the bank notifies them about it. Consumer advocates say that banks are perfectly aware that many people barely make it from payday to payday. These customers typically have very low balances. Rather than offer them a service that would be in their interests, banks extract high fees from them to cover bounced checks. If you are caught short between paychecks, consider arranging funds from other sources rather than turn to overdraft protection. The best solution to the problem is to systematically build up cash balances so that you don’t face such a situation in the first place. Relationships Handbook: How to be a Good Enemy

By Neil Warner Can you think of having a good enemy in your relationships? If you need to fight with someone, what kind of response from this person is best for you? Let’s think of what it means to do battle with a “good enemy”! A Good Enemy does not avoid the confrontation, does not escape from your angry words, does not slam the door and/or rejects the whole interaction. A person who is a good enemy stays and listens to the barrage of accusations, ignores the dramatic way of message delivery, and listens instead to the hidden content (which could be frustration, a deep need for contact, or the desperation of loneliness) And then this person can say to you, honestly: Thanks for telling me this: I will try to understand your point of view as best as I can. What is the difference? A Good Enemy refuses to escalate, and listens. This kind of response does not attempt to avoid the confrontation: it intends to process it by different means. It also means to listen to the message and ignore the envelope where the message was wrapped: angry words, high voice, aggressive words, emotional positioning, and recover the meaning hidden under the noises: There is a problem, someone is upset about it, and I’d better take notice and listen. Some people are so upset by the way things are said, that they don’t pay attention to what is said: in this way, the rejection of the wrapping allows them to reject content. Doing so they can ignore the whole message: the content and the style of delivery! A Good Enemy will try to repeat back to you the same content in different and respectful ways, up until you listen to yourself, own your own ideas even if it hurts, and then move to problem solving together! You can try to apply this technique in your own relationships: Adopt a listening attitude. Take Control of yourself, and refuse to retaliate. Repeat back the main points as close as you can, from the information you just listened to.(But avoid doing it in a hurting, ironic or sarcastic manner) Then ask for time to think about the issues, and to let your feelings settle down. (But fix a deadline for the next talk). See how your partner reacts to your new and different approach, and build momentum by shifting from confrontation mode into working a solution together mode. You will never regret it. This is one of the many other techniques you can use to respond your partners requests or to present your side of the story without risking damaging your relationship. If you can remember that beyond the high voices, rough words and impatient demeanor there is still a strong demand for your love, then the picture gets into a different frame, and perhaps you can recover the emotional connection that you so much need.
